Happy Friday. Ready to crack a cold one this weekend? Hopefully your circumstances are better than the German man who put out a fire in his car using bottles of beer.

Constellations Brands – the owner of Corona, Modelo, Svedka, and more – announced the launch of a Corona branded alcoholic seltzer in four flavors. When third-grader Daniel Hunt lost all his belongings in a house fire last month, he could have been devastated. But Daniel’s relentlessly positive outlook meant he was still showing up for school every day with a smile on his face, brightening the days of everyone around him.
So when his teacher secretly asked his classmates if they wanted to start a toy drive for Daniel to help him replace his lost things, they responded enthusiastically. All week the class was giddy as they snuck toys into the school, waiting to reveal the surprise.
When the day finally came, Daniel was speechless – he couldn’t believe what they had done for him. And instead of first running over to check out the toys, Daniel broke into his signature smile and asked all his classmates to come in for a big group hug. Witnessing this event, Daniel’s school counselor told Today, “I feel extremely blessed to have witnessed the pure love and giving from the hearts of the third-grade students at my school.”
The Siesta Key Oyster Bar in Sarasota, Florida is one of those places with kitschy, unique decor. Their quirk is dollar bills – customers have covered the walls, ceilings, and columns with them for as long as the restaurant has been around. Visitors say it’s part of the place’s charm.
But after Hurricane Dorian devastated parts of the Bahamas, the staff came up with an idea: why not see how much money could be gathered for those affected by the storm by taking down what’s hanging in the bar? So the team went to work, pulling heavy-duty staples down from the walls and ceilings and carefully collecting the bills.
It’s taken a month to get around 90 percent of the dollar bills down, but the result has been staggering – so far, they’ve freed $15,000 from the walls and ceilings. They don’t expect to finish for another couple weeks, but they’re determined to donate every last bill to those in need. And while the restaurant might be losing its signature quirk, they’re gaining a lot of grateful fans!
