The Race to the White House
The second Democratic presidential nominating contest, the New Hampshire primary, took place yesterday – check out a breakdown of how the state’s 24 delegates are assigned.
And the winner is… With 86% of counties reporting as of midnight, multiple media outlets declared Bernie Sanders the winner of the NH primary, beating out Pete Buttigieg by just over 1%. Both Sanders and Buttigieg will receive nine delegates apiece, while the remaining six delegates will go to Amy Klobuchar.
Following a distant eighth-place finish, Andrew Yang ended his 2020 presidential campaign.

Turkey & Russia Trade Attacks
Turkish-backed rebels shot down a Syrian helicopter on Tuesday, killing all of its crew members. Hours later, a Russian airstrike hit the city of Idlib, killing 12 people and wounding at least 32 according to the UK-backed Syria Observatory for Human Rights and the Syrian Civil Defense.
Turkey and Russia have recently drifted away from two previous agreements to de-escalate the fighting in Idlib and create a demilitarized zone.
Jussie Smollett was indicted by a special prosecutor in Chicago on charges of making false police reports claiming he was the victim of a hate crime in Jan. 2019. The new charges come nearly a year after Chicago prosecutors dropped disorderly conduct charges against the actor.
The entire team prosecuting Trump associate Roger Stone resigned from the criminal case on Tuesday after the DOJ backed away from their original recommendation of a 9-year prison sentence. Stone, a member of Trump’s 2016 campaign, was found guilty on several charges last November, including lying to Congress, but has not yet been sentenced.
The DOJ’s flip-flop came after President Trump tweeted the recommendation was a “miscarriage of justice.”
The FTC on Tuesday voted unanimously to review the past acquisitions of five major tech companies. As part of the review, Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Microsoft will have to provide information on acquisitions not previously reported to antitrust agencies.

Nonprofit watchdog Truth in Advertising has filed complaints with the FTC and California regulators against pop star Rihanna’s lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty. According to a CNBC review, the web store checkout adds an automatic $49.95 monthly membership with every purchase without properly notifying the consumer.
More: Truth in Advertising also alleges that many social media influencers hired to promote Fenty do not properly disclose their connection to the company.

As someone who is colorblind, Ty Buttice thought he’d never be able to experience his life in full color. But his bride, Karli, showed him the true meaning of beauty when she gifted him a special pair of glasses that allowed Ty to see color clearly for the first time in his life.
In their wedding video, Ty can be seen crying tears of joy as he’s able to see all of the colors in his bride’s bouquet on what is sure to be a day he will never forget.
In a terrible turn of events, a Charlotte, NC woman’s car was stolen last week while she was making a quick stop inside a store. To make matters worse, her new best friend and dog Ruby, a young chocolate lab, was inside the car when it was taken.
Luckily, police officers were able to track down Ruby and reunite her with her mom, inspiring an adorable happy dance the officers captured on video.
It All Adds Up
Ahmed Alwan, a 20-year-old cashier at the Lucky Candy Deli in New York City, recently found a way to inspire education while giving his neediest neighbors a hand. When customers come into the store, he gives them five seconds (and oftentimes more) to pick out free groceries in exchange for a correctly answered math question.
In videos posted to social media, store customers can be seen joyously reaping the rewards of Ahmed’s generosity of spirit.
Pickup Artist… Arizona-based startup Nikola Corp. has announced plans to introduce an all-electric pickup truck – the Badger – that converts refillable tanks of hydrogen into electricity and boasts 600 miles of range.
The future is now… last week, Columbus, OH launched a one-year pilot program featuring self-driving electric shuttles operating a daily 3-mile route in the Linden neighborhood.
