💭 Picture this: you're out on a fishing trip with your friend, when you suddenly hear barking from the water.

After making sure you didn't find some new type of barking dog-fish, you move your boat closer to the sound – only to find ~40 actual dogs treading water nearly a mile from the shore.

😮🐶 Such was the case for Bob Gist, Brad Carlisle, and fishing guide Jordan Chrestman on a fishing trip to Arkansas last month. As they approached the group of treading dogs, they noticed they were all equipped with advanced GPS collars and numbers; the pups were part of an annual fox run that takes place in the area and had run into the water while chasing a deer.

• The fishing trip soon turned into an elaborate rescue mission, as the men made two trips to- and- from land to safely evacuate all ~40 dogs from the water, returning them to grateful owners who were waiting to be reunited on the shore.
