👍 Yes (36%) – "Yes, the government taxes too much, spends too much, and isn't diligent enough to ensure THEIR spending supports the Constitution and benefits all Americans rather than 'buying' votes or benefiting particular industries/individuals including themselves instead of us."
"When the monthly interest payment on your debt exceeds your available monthly income, that's called a debt spiral. We are in a debt spiral and it must be corrected. What would you do if your credit card interest exceeded your available income? We must make some tough choices. Those include drastic spending cuts, tax/regulation cuts to spur the economy, and implementing tariffs. Tariffs help American producers and incentivise domestic production, which in turn boosts the economy adding tax revenue. Democrats will scream about working Americans being hurt, but it's not true. It is obvious that the path we've been on is killing workers and the country. Thanks to DOGE, we can clearly see what party has been benefiting from the status quo. They will do anything to continue their gravy train. Don't let the shock and awe campaign distract us from what 100% has to be done."
👎 No (56%) – "This budget cuts some of the most vital and crucial federal funding towards healthcare and climate change, which we MUST continue to address, while providing tax cuts for the uber rich, who don't need them."
"Federal cuts are not saving money as the burden for covering these services will be passed to states and local governments, many of which won’t be able to pick up the costs. If tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations are going to be extended as a result of this, I would like to see some assurances for a trickle down effect. Will corporations cap salary and bonuses for CEO and put funding into job creation? Will wealthy Americans donate percentage of funds to charity? Without provisions like this, the wealth gap is going to grow even more as a result of decisions like this."
"We’ve spent literally decades proving time and get time after time after time after time after time that tax cuts do not generate additional revenue through economic growth. This is not just fiscally irresponsible, but it’s also going to hit the people who can afford it least the hardest."
🤷 Unsure/other (8%) – "I don't want to add more to the federal deficit, but I do want to reenergize our economy. Are the tax cuts bringing more wealth to the country? Are more businesses coming to the US because of this? If so, I'm cautiously on board."
