Ex-Baltimore Mayor Sentenced

Former Baltimore mayor Catherine Pugh was sentenced to three years in prison on Thursday for fraud and tax evasion stemming from bogus sales of her children’s book series. Pugh admitted to pulling in roughly $650,000 while failing to deliver the agreed-upon books to local public schools.

DoorDash on Thursday announced it had filed confidential paperwork with the SEC to start the process of an initial public offering. The company raised $600 million last May (and $100 million more in November) at an overall valuation of $13 billion.

Conference Call

Facebook has cancelled its annual F8 developer conference in San Jose in early May due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak, the company announced Thursday. Facebook also pulled out of next month’s Game Developer Conference in San Francisco, along with Sony.

The move comes after one of tech’s biggest annual events, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, was canceled on account of the virus.
