Fourteen states and one U.S. territory are holding their Democratic primaries or caucuses today, with a total of 1,344 delegates up for grabs. Amy Klobuchar announced Monday that she is ending her campaign and endorsing Joe Biden. Pete Buttigieg, who dropped out Sunday, also endorsed the former VP.

Obamacare Appeal Reaches Supreme Court

The Supreme Court announced it will hear an appeal seeking to overturn the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). The case is scheduled to take place during the Court’s next term, which begins in October, though an ultimate decision is not expected until after November’s election.

U.S.

• Washington state health officials announced four more deaths from the coronavirus on Monday, bringing the state’s death toll to six.
• No other U.S. state has seen a death from the virus. There are 91 confirmed cases across 12 states (Wash. included).

World

• Saudi Arabia announced its first case of the virus yesterday, bringing the number of countries with a confirmed case up to 73.
• More than 91,000 confirmed cases have been reported worldwide, with over 3,100 deaths.

Alphabet’s self-driving automotive company, Waymo, announced it has raised $2.25 billion in the company’s first round of external funding. The funding round is headlined by private equity firm Silver Lake, while other significant investors include Andreessen Horowitz and AutoNation Inc.

U.S. stock markets saw a bounce-back from last week’s rapid decline, with the Dow posting its largest single-day gain in more than a decade. On the flip side, stock futures late Monday night predicted the market would drop once again after opening on Tuesday.

Apple has tentatively agreed to a $500 million settlement after the company admitted to secretly throttling the battery life of the iPhone 6 and 7 series. The deal would provide a $25 payout to any current or former owner of those devices.

In other settlement news, pharma giant Novartis has been fined $195 million by the DOJ for colluding with other drugmakers to fix prices of generic drugs.
