The Race to the White House

Six states voted on the Democratic presidential nominee yesterday (plus the Democrats Abroad primary officially closed), with a total of 365 delegates up for grabs. Just three Democratic hopefuls remain in the race (delegate counts are from before Tuesday’s contests):

  • Joe Biden - 670 delegates
  • Bernie Sanders - 574 delegates
  • Tulsi Gabbard - 2 delegates

And the winner is…
While all of the votes need to be counted to determine the exact delegate count, enough data has been gathered to call the winners in each state:

  • Biden: Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Idaho.
  • Sanders: Leads in North Dakota and Washington, though enough votes have not been counted to definitively call either state.

Moving forward...

  • Primaries/Caucuses: 2,187 delegates remaining across 30 more contests. Next Tuesday, four more states hold primaries, with 577 delegates up for grabs.
  • Debates: The next debate will be held on Sunday, March 15 in Phoenix, AZ.
  • DNC: The nominee will be formally announced in July at the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee.

So...what are people saying?
