Stay With Me

As of Tuesday night, the governors of 16 states across the U.S. have issued some variation of stay-at-home orders to their citizens, encompassing 158 million Americans. Five other states - KY, MA, MD, NV, & VA - have ordered all nonessential businesses to close, but stopped short of official instructions to remain at home.

Am I Among Those Affected?
The following states have standing orders to limit all nonessential travel and avoid public gatherings (here’s a map for our visual learners):

California - Connecticut - Delaware - Hawaii - Illinois - Indiana - Louisiana - Michigan - New Jersey - New Mexico - New York - Ohio - Oregon - Washington - West Virginia - Wisconsin.

The individual restrictions that accompany these stay-at-home orders are specific to each state. Many governors have made exceptions for going to the grocery store, visiting the doctor, and personal exercise - for a complete rundown of the ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ of each state, check out this link.

But Wait, There’s More
If you’re curious to learn about the steps taken to combat coronavirus in your area and don’t see it already listed, check out this summary of each individual state’s response to the virus.
