| | The Return To Sports | Today we’ll be looking at the return of professional and collegiate sports amidst the pandemic. Professional After postponing the season back in March, the MLB is slated to begin on July 23rd. Two other major sports have solidified plans to resume their 2019-2020 seasons:

- The NHL expects to resume in Canada on Aug. 1, with no fans permitted. Training camps begin today, which is also the deadline for players to opt-out of the season without penalties.
The NFL reportedly expects each team to play two preseason games in late August, though the NFLPA has endorsed a plan with no preseason games. Here’s what we know about the 2020 season. Collegiate Several conferences have planned changes to their usual fall seasons:
- The Ivy League canceled fall sports last week, which covers football, volleyball, soccer, cross country, and field hockey.

For other conferences, decisions regarding the feasibility of fall sports are still ongoing. - The SEC has yet to announce a decision. The league’s commissioner said the concern regarding the season is “high to very high.”
- The ACC & Big 12 plan to announce their decisions in late July.
