✨ This Weekend's Mantra
|
"I am happy in my own skin and in my own circumstances. This day brings me nothing but joy."
The reason behind this section: Mantras and affirmations have incredible effects on the human mind. These short, simple phrases, whether spoken aloud or meditated on throughout the day, can greatly affect your subconscious. When done regularly, affirmation practices can:
-
Help with problem solving
-
Reduce stress and anxiety
-
Improve overall confidence
-
Increase dopamine levels and positive emotions
+Note: We’ll feature a new mantra in each newsletter to repeat throughout your week.

👏 The Sweet Spotlight
💪🏼👵🏻 One Hundred Years Strong

🎁 Edith Murway-Traina broke the world record for the oldest competitive female powerlifter in 2019 at almost 100 years old… and you know there HAS to be a good story there.👇
|
🏋️♀️ Super Grandma… Edith has always been passionate about physical fitness. She idolized Shirley Temple and Fred Astaire in her childhood and eventually became a dance teacher, instructing classes at the local rec center.
At 91-years-young, Edith’s good friend invited her to the gym. Though unsure at first, Edith quickly fell in love with strength training and began working with a trainer a few years later.
-
"While I was watching those ladies doing their thing[lift weights], I thought I just as well should pick up a few bars, and I did." Edith shared with Guinness World Records. Only a few months later, she was officially on the competition team.
-
How’s she doing? Let’s put it this way: she’s won so many trophies there’s no more space in her home for them. (🏆)

👏 Live for the Applause...
Edith is the first one to admit that she loves the attention that comes from her multiple competition wins.
-
“I love to hear the applause,” she shared with the NY Post. “What better [thing] is there than feeling like you accomplished something and to hear everyone applaud and make you feel like you’ve done something powerful and important?”
While the centenarian takes pride in smashing all of her competitions, she finds the most satisfaction in breaking people’s stereotype of the “sweet old lady.”
-
“Tell me I can’t do something, and I will prove that I can.” Edith declares, “That’s more or less or my attitude.”

🏆 What’s Your Win ?
It’s your time to shine.
|
Each week, we’re asking YOU, our amazing readers, to submit your everyday wins and accomplishments.
Whether it be as big as a new job or an engagement, or as simple as trying out an amazing new recipe, we want to hear what you're proud of.
-
Use this Google form to submit your wins. Two or three of the best responses will be featured in next week's official Positive DONUT launch !
As an example: I’m an actress and a singer, and I’ve had seven big auditions and callbacks in the last month alone. While I may not have booked one yet, a few years ago even having the opportunity to audition was a lifelong dream. I’m so proud of myself for how far I’ve come !
Submit your win here.
