📜 February 26: On This Day in History

Don’t call it a comeback

Image: The DONUT/OpenAI

Each of the following events happened on February 26. Your challenge is to put them in the order in which they occurred by year, earliest to latest. Answers at the bottom!

  • A) Napoleon escapes exile and attempts to make a comeback. French troops sent to stop him instead join his forces, but they prove no match for the Duke of Wellington’s troops. Napoleon’s leadership officially ends with his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo and banishment to the island of St. Helena.
  • B) Nike receives a US patent for its iconic waffle trainer running shoes. Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman invented the now-iconic soles by pouring polyurethane into his family’s waffle iron during breakfast.
  • C) A bomb explodes in a parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City, leaving a massive, multi-story crater and causing the collapse of several steel-reinforced concrete floors in the vicinity of the blast. Although the bomb, planted by radical Islamic fundamentalists, fails to critically damage the main structure of the skyscrapers, it causes six deaths and injures 1,000+ others.
  • D) President Woodrow Wilson officially designates the Grand Canyon as a national park. The geological wonder would go on to become one of America's most popular tourist attractions.

Hint: Napoleon followed the motto: “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.”

Why veterans quit therapy but show up to the gym

Many veterans try therapy, and don’t stay. But they show up for training.

Because sweating side-by-side is easier than talking face-to-face. Because shared struggle builds trust. Because progress you can feel beats words you can’t find.

WarriorWOD pairs veterans with mentors and a structured fitness + nutrition plan that helps them stabilize, reconnect, and breathe again.

Over 100 are waiting to start.
