• C) Pepsi first gets its name. Pharmacist Caleb Bradham begins marketing his popular “Brad’s Drink” as Pepsi-Cola, with the catchy rebranding helping transform a hometown favorite into one of the world’s most recognizable soft drinks. PepsiCo, Inc. would eventually become one of the largest food and beverage companies.
• D) The Killers, starring Ava Gardner and Burt Lancaster in his breakthrough role, premieres in New York City. The film, based on an Ernest Hemingway short story, would become a film noir classic.
