Taylor Swiftâs ongoing Eras Tour, which began in mid-March and heads to Europe for one year beginning August 9, is on track to become the first in history to earn over $1 billion in total sales.
But itâs not just T-Swift and her team who are raking in the dough. Swifties have been filling up hotels, restaurants, bars, and other local businesses in all 18 US cities the Eras Tour has visited so far.
A few examples:
⊠and the list goes on and on. The US portion of Swiftâs Eras Tour is on pace to generate $4.6 billion in total consumer spending, an amount larger than the GDP of 35 countries.
âïž One interesting thing (Taylorâs version): Each T-Swift concertgoer spends an average of $1,300 per show on tickets, outfits, travel, and food â or $720 higher than their intended budget. Though in the grand scheme of things there are almost no ragrets; 91% of attendees say theyâd pay the same amount to attend another Swift concert.
đ +đ„ Over the weekend, the US box office brought in a combined ~$302M in ticket sales, good for its fourth-largest weekend in history. Its biggest driver? Barbie and Oppenheimer, who together accounted for more than three-fourths of the entire total.
