When waiting for an organ transplant, you never know when that call for surgery will come. For one Cleveland woman, her transplant match just so happened to become available on the very same day she said, "I do." 

  • Kimberly Woods had been waiting for a healthy heart for years after being diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, an ailment that causes her heart muscles to thicken. 

❤️ One for the ages... Kimberly finally got the news that she'd be receiving her new heart in September 2021. Making the most of the life-changing day, she and her husband Anthony tied the knot in the morning, then immediately drove four hours to her transplant surgery. 

  • The organ took (thankfully), and Kimberly is hopeful she'll make a full recovery – she has a long happy life with her new husband to look forward to
