Paul Roberts is a bit of a celebrity in his New Jersey neighborhood, where he's known as the cheeriest 94-year-old around.
The WWII veteran says he’s “always thought [he] had lived a charmed life.” Last month, however, tragedy struck when Paul lost his home and nearly everything he owned in a house fire.
- “It took everything I have,” he told TODAY. “And that’s hard.”
🤗 Everybody loves Paul... Thankfully, his neighbors stepped up to help, creating a GoFundMe page to help get the old man back on his feet.
- So far, they've has raised more than $140,000 from people across the nation, with many donations coming from fellow veterans.
