❤️🦦🐕 Furry Friends Friday: A River Rescue

Gus the Goldendoodle has been fighting cancer for months. Even after the pup had one of his hind legs amputated, he proved nothing could bring down his loving spirit.

"He does just great on three legs. He runs as fast as he ever did," said one of his owners, Cleo. "He’s very friendly, and he’s very smart and he’s very loving." 

🦦🐕 Gus to the Rescue... His owners were rightfully confused when, on a Sunday picnic near the river, Gus bolted as fast as he could on his three legs into the water. When he swam back to shore, he had a small brown ball of fur in his mouth. 

• It was a tiny otter pup, so tiny it's eyes weren't even open. 

Gus's owners quickly brought the otter to an animal rescue clinic where it was treated and saved- the pup very likely wouldn't have made it on it's own. 

• "I think he (Gus) knew the otter was hurting and something was wrong…he definitely got a lot of treats afterwards!"
