David Flucker recently celebrated his 100th birthday. The Scottish centenarian was honored at his workplace to mark the big occasion.
You read that right. Turning 100, at his workplace.
David is known around town as the friendly face at the St. Columba's Hospice shop in downtown Edinburgh, where he's been volunteering for around ten years after getting bored of retirement.
👴🏻 What's his age again?... According to the shop's manager, people rarely believe David's age.
For his 100th birthday last month, the store dedicated an entire window display to him, highlighting different aspects of his long and impressive life.
He was born in Newhaven and lived in Australia and South Africa. During the Second World War, he flew with the Rapid Action Force in North Africa and survived a plane crash.
🗯 What he's saying: "If they ever closed the shop, I don't know what I would do - I couldn't just sit in the house doing nothing," David told the BBC. "I will try my best to live as long as I can, and will only stop working at the charity shop when I collapse!"
