Ever since she was young, Californian Carie Broecker has always had a heart for dogs.
🐾👵🏻 But our story begins... when she met an elderly woman named Alice, who was adopting one of the dogs Carie was fostering. Years later, when Alice developed emphysema and couldn't care for the dog anymore, Carie took her right back in.
Alice sadly passed soon after, but, even in her final days, wanted to be sure her pup was safe. Carie promised she would make sure her dog found an amazing forever home.
And thus, Peace of Mind Dog Rescue was born.
Founded in 2009, Peace of Mind Dog Rescue cares for dogs from senior citizens who are no longer able to care for them, have gone into a nursing home, or have passed away.
🐶❤️ Senior moment... Recently, the rescue has branched out into helping both senior citizens and senior dogs, adopting older pups from high risk shelters and finding them homes for their final years.
While adopting an older dog comes with its own sets of challenges, Carie believes every moment is worth it.
🙏 Bottom line: So far, Peace of Mind Dog Rescue has helped 2,000 senior citizens and found homes for nearly 3,000 dogs.
