Art belongs to the streets

Over the past few years, statistics show that America's roads are getting more and more dangerous. With the number of distracted drivers and reckless driving increasing, many pedestrians risk being hit while walking near the road. 

🖌🎨⚠️ That's where The Asphalt Art Initiative comes in... The project, funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, aims to use art and civic engagement to promote pedestrian safety around the country. 

  • By painting stunning street murals on busy roads, the idea is that cars will slow down to admire the art as they pass. So far, it's been pretty successful.
