Mooove over, Royal Family – Brits everywhere are celebrating the birth of the little lady pictured above. Why? She's the first bison to be born in the country in thousands of years.
🐃 The story: When three adult bison were released in Kent, UK, over the summer as part of a rewilding initiative, park rangers had no idea that one of them was expecting.
- But then, a newborn calf – healthy and happy as can be – joined the herd just days after their release.
🦬🇬🇧 Big picture: The bison are part of a project to examine the wildlife across the UK, with the goal of restoring the country's natural ecosystem (and in turn helping the environment).
P.S. Do bison actually "moo?" Serious question. I'm not exactly sure, but it was worth it for the pun😉🐄.
