What a power-couple friendship looks like

Annie Korzen and Mackenzie Morrison are more than best friends. The women are self-proclaimed "soul mates," spending their days laughing, creating, and enjoying each other's company whenever they can. And while the two may be identical on the inside, they look a little different on the outside – which probably has something to do with them being 52 years apart.

But the age gap doesn't phase the two; it only makes their bond stronger. "Even though we have totally different backgrounds in every way possible," said Annie. "We really are soulmates.”

🕰 Let's rewind: It all started when the duo met at a charity event, bonding over their love of thrifting and fashion. 

Eighty-three year old Annie is an actress with a long career in the television industry. And when she told Mackenzie she was interested in building a following online, the 31-year-old knew just what to do.

She sent her to TikTok 😎. 

🤩 A star is born... Mackenzie helped Annie set up an account, and gave her some ideas for her first few videos.

• “When we started, it was literally just like two teenagers running around her house, making videos," Mackenzie shared. "There was no plan. We were just laughing and having so much fun."
• "No plan" ended up being a perfect plan. In a matter of days, Annie had 200,000 followers.

📱📈 Fast-forward to today... where Annie's account has grown to 363,000 followers, amassing over 8 million likes across her videos. Thanks to her success, she's been asked to audition for more projects in Hollywood – but it goes deeper than that.

• “This is the first time in my life I’m being called beautiful," the octogenarian shared. "They (commenters) say ‘You're gorgeous.' ‘You’re beautiful.’ ‘I love your outfit.’ ‘I love your hair.’ ‘I love your style.’ ‘I love you.’ ‘You look so great.' I have never heard this in my life, especially not in Hollywood.”

👯‍♀️ Besties for the restie: While the women are celebrating their online success, they're most grateful for how much their friendship has changed each other's lives. 

• “No one expected us to be so close,” Mackenzie said.“ When I was only hanging out with people my age, I was constantly comparing myself to where they are in life... Annie’s given me 40-50 more years to explore and have fun and be myself. It’s incredible. I can’t wait to be 80.”
