Into the woods

When Aimee Copeland went on a zip-lining excursion ten years ago, she had no idea it would alter the course of her entire life. But one accident later, it did.

After losing both hands, her right foot, and her left leg to a flesh-eating bacterial infection afterward, the nature-loving woman never knew if she would be able to enjoy the great outdoors again.

🏔 Trail-trekking... Since the accident, Aimee has dedicated her life to "bridging the gap between nature and accessibility." Her most recent project involved fundraising $200,000 for a fleet of Action Trackchairs for Georgia state parks.

  • The wheelchairs are able to trek on any type of terrain, thanks to their intense wheels and treads mimicking those of a small tank.

❤️ Feels like home: "I got a few miles deep in the woods," Aimee shared of her first chair excursion. "It had been years. And the smells, the sights, the feeling of the damp air on my skin, it really was like a flood of emotion and just a feeling of being home."
