A nightstand has begun to pop up in San Francisco's parks with a simple sign on top: "Take a Poem, Leave a Poem."

The project was started by 30-year-old San Francisco resident Amanda Barrows, who was tasked by her teacher to find a way to share poetry with the greater community.

๐Ÿ“ Anyone can cook write poetry... When she first placed the old nightstand in the park, Amanda wasn't sure she would get any responses.

  • โ€œI have 70 pieces of writing," she shared, "And itโ€™s only been in parks for a week and a half. Itโ€™s like actual poetry and mostly peopleโ€™s own words โ€” people have written some beautiful stuff.โ€
