Girls just wanna make friends

Holly Cooke is a London resident who moved to the city in 2018 from Stoke-on-Trent, a town about 170 miles away. After struggling to make friends following the move, Holly felt overwhelmed with the prospect of meeting other young women through apps or one-on-one.

👯‍♀️ Smart thinking... Holly ended up creating the London Lonely Girls Club on Facebook in an attempt to meet some new people – and quickly realized she wasn't alone. 

• The club is now more than 30,000 members strong. It hosts four to six events each month, including picnics, brunches, and board game nights.
• "Meet-ups are getting booked up in five minutes," Holly told the BBC. "It's been a crazy journey. I started it because I just wanted to make some friends."
