You're looking at the newest resident of Hawaii’s Kaimana Beach – a monk seal pup currently under 24-hour watch and protection by Hawaiian officials.
- Hawaiian monk seals are one of the most endangered seal species in the world; the pup's birth marks a big step forward for the species.
👩👧 Welcome to the world... A temporary fence has been installed on the beach to protect Mama and baby seal, who will most likely be nursing for five to seven weeks.
