Joy, to the world

Seven years ago, Brad Ryan and his grandmother Joy Ryan set out on a mission to visit all 63 national parks.

The journey started when Joy told Brad that she regretted not taking enough trips in her life. At that point, the then-85-year-old thought she was too elderly to travel – but boy, was she wrong.

  • Brad took his grandma to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as their first stop. He then started a GoFundMe page with a mission to get Joy to every single one.

🌎 Mission, accomplished: The duo crossed park #63 off their list earlier this year after visiting the National Park of American Samoa, the only US park south of the equator. At 93, Joy is the oldest living person to achieve the milestone.
