👆 This team of four women beat out thousands for the opportunity to run the world’s most remote post office, located on Antarctica’s Goudier Island.
The women spend their days maintaining the remote site, keeping up with incoming mail, and running the tiny general store and gift shop for small cruise ships that dock at the nearby port. Living conditions are cold and dark; all four women share one bedroom with no running water or internet.
🇦🇶🇬🇧 Fun fact: In addition to its friendly penguin neighbors, the site where the team is staying has a long and storied history. The UK's first permanent Antarctic base was established on Goudier Island in 1944.
