Californian Dr. Robert Moore has loved dogs his whole life. Big, little, short-haired, or big fluff balls, the San Jose resident always stops to pet every dog he sees.
That's why, for his 100th birthday, his daughter Alison wanted to give him something pawsitively memorable.
Ultimately, Alison decided to plan a dog party. She put out a post on the Nextdoor neighborhood app and Facebook, asking her neighbors to please bring their dogs by her home to help celebrate her Dad's birthday. She was expecting 20, maybe 30 dogs to stop by over the course of the day.
What happened next blew everyone away.
An estimated 200 dogs stopped by for the occasion, with pups and their parents lined up around the corner and down the block โ all just waiting to give the centenarian a tail wag and puppy cuddle.
๐ On the guest list: A samoyed riding in a classic green car (another of Robert's loves), as well as a pup who had its own wheelchair. There were also tiny teacup pups and huge rottweilers โ and Robert made sure to pet and say hello to every single one of them.
