🐾 Poppy's pawsitively lucky day

Freight train driver Ian Jones was on his usual route near the Langham Junction crossing in the UK, when he spotted something red disappear into the bushes.

Turns out, the flash of red was the harness on this chonky nugget named Poppy👆, a pug who had run away from home the night before. 

🦸🏻‍♂️ Not all heroes wear capes... "Without thinking, I jumped out the cab and rushed back as quick as I could to see if I could find this little dog and there she was just looking so very sad and lonely," Ian shared with the BBC. "She was trembling and looking down at the ground... I just couldn't believe my eyes."

• Ian scooped up the pooch and was able to get in touch with her owners Dawn and Ian Bain, who had been looking for her all night long. 
• Poppy got a ride on the train back to her home in Oakham to reunite with her family, where there were tears of joy – and wags of tails – all around.
