🦷 From teeth to the trails

Nicholas Roemmelt is a German dentist with an interesting – and daunting – pastime.

When he's not examining people's teeth in his chair, the nature-lover spends his time hiking the Alps, taking stunning photos of the scenery he encounters along the way. 

👆 The picture above was taken in 2018, and is a combination of multiple photos over the course of one night. It was recently named NASA's Astronomy Photo of the Day.

• “It is, of course, a blend of different pictures, but the camera wasn’t moved between the different captures, so it’s not a fake composite,” Nicholas told My Modern Met. “The foreground, the Milky Way, and the [Perseids] shooting star have been together in one single picture."
