Wins don't always come with trophies

Slovakian athlete Dominik Cerny may not have come in 1st place in the men's walking race at the World Athletics Championships last week, but he still scored gold in another book. 

The men's and women's races happened simultaneously, and, when his girlfriend Hana Burzalova crossed the finish line a few minutes after him, Dominik got down on one knee and popped the question: "Will you marry me?" 

⏱ Priorities... A shocked and exhausted Hana quickly agreed to his proposal, but made sure to check and stop the timer on her watch before she did. 

• The couple sealed the moment with a kiss before Dominik wisked Hana off her feet and the course. 
• And while they didn't win any medals in the race, it's safe to say they won the crowd's (and each other's) hearts.
