🐢 Slow and steady

Jonathan the tortoise celebrated his 191st birthday earlier this week. 

The tortoise is the oldest land animal ever on record, with his 191 years being a rough estimate – it's likely he's even older. 

😎 Still kicking it... The life expectancy for his breed is 150 years, but according to his long-time vet, Joe Hollins, Jonathan is showing “no sign of slowing down." He's hopeful that Jonathan will see the start of his third century.

• The tortoise lives on the island of St. Helena at the governors home, where he arrived 141 years ago.
