Hunter Moore has been bullied most of his life. The 16-year-old high schooler has dystonic cerebral palsy due to a stroke he suffered at nine months old.

  • Hunter's condition left him partially paralyzed on the left side of his body, and doctors told his parents he would have issues trying to walk, would never run, and would be raised in a wheelchair.

The family moved regularly due to the father's job in the military, and Hunter struggled to make friends. He often dealt with bullies teasing him over his condition.

As long as Hunter can remember, however, he's wanted to prove them all wrong.

  • He shared that his parents "always told me that I can do anything that I set my mind to and that I should never let Cerebral Palsy define me."
  • And after placing first in both natural and disabled body building competitions last year, he's done just that.

๐Ÿˆ No limit... Hunter isn't just a bodybuilder; he's also an accomplished athlete. The high-schooler has played seven years of soccer, five years of flag football, and tackle football since 7th grade. He's the long snapper on his JV football team.

  • While Hunter knows his body is different than most people's, he takes it as a creative challenge at the gym and on the field. Whether it's chest pressing with one arm or deadlifting with his left arm hooked around the bar, he always finds a way to make it happen.

๐Ÿ“ Bottom line: Hunter's biggest inspiration is his dad, who always encouraged the teen to work through his challenges and never give up.

Hunter was nervous for his first competition โ€“ especially with the onstage posing โ€“ but he went through with it anyway thanks to his father's support.

  • "I faced my fears and did it anyway," he shared, "and while I was posing on stage I looked out and saw my dad crying with pride."
  • "The message that I want to give others is to never back down. Do not let others define you and never let a medical situation define you. Fear nothing, try everything, and 'Prove Them All Wrong!'โ€
