Archaeologists in Naples, Italy, recently discovered an underwater marble floor from an ancient Roman villa, which was preserved almost perfectly on the sea floor.

😮 What a find... The flooring is still being uncovered during underwater missions, with some pieces being brought to the surface for cleaning and restoration. The researchers hope to restore the entire section of the ancient floor in the near future.

  • Local mayor Josi Gerardo Della Ragione called the find “stupendous."
