Images: Phil Heckels

Phil Heckels, otherwise known as “rubbish” pet artist Hercule Van Wolfwinkle, began drawing his—erm—unique pet portraits for fun in 2020. The West Sussex, UK, resident now works full-time as an artist, drawing hundreds of people’s animals to raise money for two charities: Turning Tides, a homelessness charity, and StreetVet.

  • In the last five years, the artist has raised more than £400,000 (~$517,500) from his portraits👆. His second book, More Rubbish Pet Portraits, is scheduled to be published on April 10.
