🎁 The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially released Antonio Brown yesterday, a few days after the star wide receiver took off his uniform and ran shirtless into the locker room during the middle of Sunday's game.

🏈 What happened?... Short answer: nobody knows for sure, but one side of the dispute has a… less-than-stellar reputation, shall we say.

  • Brown, whose career has been peppered with controversies and drama, claims he told the Bucs coaching staff he was too hurt to continue playing on an injured ankle, at which point head coach Bruce Arians told AB he was cut from the team.
  • Arians, who denies AB's account, said Brown told him he wasn't playing anymore because "I ain't getting the ball," after which Arians said, "You're done, get the F out of here."

📰 The scoop: Bucs GM Jason Licht revealed yesterday that AB's agent last week asked for the remaining $2 million in performance-based incentives for his contract to be guaranteed, which the team refused.

  • Some pundits speculate the wide receiver's outburst was prompted by a lack of targets in the first half, but it may have been a bit premature. When faced with a similar situation last season, QB Tom Brady showed AB the money by targeting him a whopping 15 times in the final game.

+Other athletes making headlines: Tennis star Novak Djokovic will remain in visa limbo until Monday when an Aussie court hears his deportation case.
