💥 Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike. On Friday, Hezbollah confirmed the death of Nasrallah, who was arguably the most powerful figure in Lebanon and Iran's closest ally in the region. Israel’s military said Nasrallah was killed in a large-scale airstrike on an underground bunker in Beirut, which leveled multiple large apartment buildings. Nasrallah is one of seven senior Hezbollah leaders and 1,000+ others who have been killed by Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon over the past two weeks, while zero Israelis have died from Hezbollah attacks over the same period.

🇷🇺 Russia’s government proposed a ban on encouraging child-free lifestyles. Last week, a top Russian lawmaker unveiled a proposal to ban citizens and companies from promoting the “childfree movement” on the internet, as well as in media, movies, or advertisements. The legislation, which carries fines of up to $4,300 for individuals, comes as Russia is facing a demographic crisis amid its lowest birth rate since 1999.

🇮🇪🇺🇸 The US charged three Iranians with hacking into former President Trump’s 2024 campaign. DOJ officials accused the three hackers of working for Iran to hack the Trump campaign in May and “weaponize” stolen material by spreading it to media organizations and the Biden campaign. Among the documents Iran is thought to have obtained is a dossier of research into VP nominee JD Vance. The dossier and other documents weren’t widely distributed until last Thursday, when journalist Ken Klippenstein posted the Vance dossier on his blog (which was later blocked on X, Threads, and Instagram).
