🎁 We're fast-approaching Year Two of the Biden Administration. What does America think of his first year?

When President Biden first took office last January, his approval rating was over 55%, per RealClearPolitics.

He currently has the worst job approval of any modern president at this point in his term except for former President Trump, according to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll published last week that pegged Biden's approval rating at 40%.

☝️ Polls, polls, & more polls: RealClearPolitics' polling average shows Biden's disapproval rating is the highest it's ever been, while his approval rating is near the lowest point of his presidency.

Similarly, FiveThirtyEight's polling numbers show the gap between Biden's disapproval and approval ratings is near its all-time high.

  • Both sites, which combine data from hundreds of independent polls, show Biden's disapproval rating has risen somewhat steadily throughout his presidency, while his approval ratings first started to dip in the summer months.

🗳️ Looking ahead... Presidential approval ratings are usually a good indicator of what will happen in the upcoming midterms, though there's plenty of time between now and then for things to change.

  • If elections were held today, 43% of registered voters would support a generic Republican congressional candidate in their district compared to 41% for Democrats, per RCP.
