👍 Yes (43%) – "Even though I’ve paid off my loans, I can recognize the value in helping people make headway in a predatory system of money lending. For many people, college was touted as the “only” thing they they could do after high school if they wanted to be successful. While that isn’t true, it doesn’t change the fact that many young people were pressured into a predatory system and saddled with 10s of thousands of dollars in debt as they were about to start their adult life."
👎 No (46%) – "I understand that student loans represent a significant amount of debt for many Americans; however, when taking out a loan, you agree to the terms and understand that you alone are responsible for paying it off in full. It is unfair to the many Americans who scrimped, saved, and sacrificed to pay off their own loans and to the Americans who decided against student loans because of the price tag."
🤷♀️ Unsure/other (11%) – "It's seems like a surface solution to a much deeper issue. a) Many borrowers have WAY more than that, b) The gov't will make that up in interest in no time, and c) College is still unaffordable and people still need loans."
