Quick recap: In this section, we’re aiming to crowdsource details about epic trips – then provide the whole playbook for the experience to y’all.
🚶♂️ Who: Annie T. from Sturbridge, MA
☀️ Length of trip: 5 days
💬 Quick recap: KW is the perfect spot if you love fresh food, yummy drinks, and lots of sun! We went with a group of about 10 friends. Many of them had been before— so we felt like we had our own personal tour guides. We drank all day— luckily all of the bars and restaurants had happy hour specials everyday, listened to live music, went to Mile Marker Zero, enjoyed looking at beautiful art galleries, ate DELICIOUS fresh fish everyday, and enjoyed the sun!
🤔 Anything you wish you would’ve known?... The first day of travel is A LOT. Since we chose to fly into Miami and then take a jumper plane to Key West, it ended up being close to 12 hours of traveling with layovers and delays and changing planes.
😍 MUST dos: A sunset cruise! It literally feels like you’re falling into the end of the world! Undeniably beautiful!
🙅♀️ Must don’ts: Don’t be upset if you’re looking for a beach day— the beaches are man made! Who knew?!
EXPENSES
✈️🚗🚆 Transportation: $400 / round-trip ticket, $50 for Ubers
🏨⛺🏠 Lodging: About $1000. We stayed at Curry’s Mansion which is right off of Duval Street which is the main strip of things to do!
🏰⛷️🎫 Activities: Sunset Cruise— $50/person for about 4 hours, with drinks and apps included; Butterfly Museum— $15/person; Snorkeling— $30/person; A little shopping— $50.
🍔🍕🥗 Food: Daily breakfast was included at our bed and breakfast along with a free happy hour for 2 hours every day which included make your own drinks and free apps! Otherwise, I think we spent more on drinks than food 🤫 Most places have B1G1 free drinks during happy hour–- which is every day in KW!
