😱 Very surprising (29%) – "I really thought that, given the economy and the fact that people are overwhelmingly unhappy with the direction of the country, Republicans would have had a better showing. I believe the lackluster performance on their part if due to Trump speaking out days before the election. I don’t think anyone except, a few extreme Republicans, want him to run again."
😐 Some surprises, but about what I expected (46%) – "I'm not surprised by the way most of the elections turned out. In southern states there were some really strong liberal candidates (Beto, Stacey Abrams, etc) who didn't win the election. I suppose I'm a little surprised by those based on the amount of support they received from younger people, but I also feel like a good portion of those supporters aren't actually old enough to vote yet. I can imagine it's also incredibly difficult for a Democrat to break into a state that's traditionally been a red state, Texas for example."
🥱 Not surprising at all (25%) – "A "red wave" was predicted by some based on history and Bidens low approval rating, but I think that the magnitude of the effect of the overturning of Roe v. Wade was underrepresented. 50% of the population have had their basic liberty over their body taken away. Yes inflation is on everyone's minds, but basic liberties will come first."
