👍 Yes (47%) – "Times are tough these days. But it’s still a season of giving! My family decided to cut back on who we shop for this year, and really try to come up with more creative, thoughtful gifts, rather than just buying things with higher value."

• "The burn rate on my savings is already too high, meaning I’d have to use credit for purchases. I would rather be less generous for Christmas than spend months paying it off."
• "I won’t use credit cards so inflation significantly affects my ability to do the holidays like I did last year. I have pulled some money from savings but I’m trying to not do that either. Live below my means is my new mantra because I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better."

👎 No (32%) – "Inflation has made me take a closer look at my budget in general and adjust some of my discretionary spending. However I enjoy gift giving and have maintained a similar budget range as I have used in the past. (And then promptly exceeded budget when I find that perfect gift)"

And with the relative collapse of brick and mortar stores, the fun of getting the newspaper for the Black Friday ads the night before is over."
