👍 Yes (70%) – "Because marriage as defined by the "state" versus marriage that is defined by a "religious institution" are two separate things, even though they can be the same. From a state perspective, all Americans should have the same rights, protections, and responsibilities of government and citizenship whether they subscribe to a religion or not. As a gay man, if I choose to marry, I want the marriage legally recognized."
👎 No (22%) – "The rights for interracial and same sex couples to marry is already enshrined in federal law. This new law removes vital protections for freedom of religion and speech and should never have passed."
🤷♀️ Other/unsure (8%) – "I support gay marriage – but this bill doesn't indefinitely protect same-sex marriage. It'll protect marriage licenses made before the bill, but doesn't ensure future marriage licenses."
