👍 I agree with all of them (15%) – "The new rules package gives more power to individual representatives, which means more power to the people. The rules do not prevent any sensible legislation from being passed, while adding strong incentives for legislators to propose and consider legislation that will benefit all Americans rather than the special interests of whoever is in power."
📈 I agree with most of them (22%) – "I expected to really disagree with a lot of these concessions based on what I'd heard about them, but the only two that really seems like a bad idea are the first one where a single member can call for a removal vote – which can lead to a very chaotic House experience – and adding members of a fringe minority (Freedom Caucus) to more committees."
↔️ I don’t feel strongly either way (7%) – "No one knows how any of these things will actually play out. So it’s a wait and see thing."
📉 I disagree with most of them (29%) – "The concessions for the most part, display a continued split among parties and the likelihood of anything of merit getting done in the next two years just left town. Republican and Democratic parties need a serious look at their stubbornness and the changing face of America."
👎 I disagree with all of them (17%) – "So many concessions - for a group of 20 members - holding the House hostage for the next two years. This is not how Government should be run. The Speaker and GOP will not be able to do anything. How can a Government be for the people if they are catering to a small minority?"
🤷 Unsure/other (10%) – "McCarthy gave away the farm to get himself into power. And, under most circumstances, I would not actually think that the Speaker having less power would be a bad thing. But the factions working against him are even scarier than he is, so there is that. Bottom line: mixed feelings."
