👍 Strongly agree (15%) – "This drug is ending an innocent life, and women who take it also are putting themselves at a high risk of major complications, which may or may not be disclosed to them. This could be damaging not only to the physical body but to their mental state."
📈 Agree/Somewhat agree (6%) – "There is scientific evidence that life begins at conception. Using abortion pills in an attempt to circumvent accountability for making irresponsible sexual decisions does not justify the extinguishing of that life."
🤷 Neutral (8%) – "I don't have enough information to have an opinion about whether the FDA acted too hastily. If they did then we need to complete the studies regarding its safety, whether it endangers anyone's life. Data from ~20 years of its use may help resolve the issue."
📉 Disagree/Somewhat disagree (10%) – "It has been proven safe and it helps women that did not choose an abortion, but miscarried or have health conditions that could jeopardize their health if there is no access--or create more risk to them if they need surgical intervention instead."
👎 Strongly disagree (61%) – "This is an absolutely baseless case, being used to manipulate executive branch functions. This drug has been used for DECADES safely. It has had thousands of case studies over those years, and has been proven safe. To say now that it is "unproven" and "inadequately tested" is pure fabrication."
"Mifepristone isn't just used for abortions, but for miscarriages at well, which the mother bears no responsibility for. Mifepristone can be life-saving for the mother. No matter your stance on abortion, abortions are going to occur. Whether it can be done in a safe, medically sound way that protects the mother is the real issue. The protection of medicine such as Mifepristone is crucial and will prevent deaths more than it will cause them."
