What measures, if any, do you think should be taken to maintain the integrity of the Supreme Court?

"Clear violations should be punished as outlined in the law. We used to hold judges in high regard, and if this goes unpunished then the judicial branch will quickly become more defunct than it already is."

  • "We cannot "maintain" the integrity of the SC, because it no longer has any. We need to clean house, and once that's done, establish enforceable guidelines. Thomas needs to go, and the other most recent 'justices' also need to be re-vetted. Lying on a job interview would usually negate the job offer - it shouldn't be tolerated let alone with a lifetime appointment for something as fundamental as this."

"They need to shore up the gifting guidelines so Justices can't accept any gift valued over a certain dollar amount from a non-family member. The monetary value of these gifts are alarming."

  • "Supreme Court justices should be subject to the same ethical rules that all other justices are expected to uphold. There should be legal consequences for a failure to do so."

"Yearly vetting of their personal funds, writings, anything that would affect their decisions they need to make. And a 10 year term limit. Life is too long."

  • “Laws have to be written to shore up the "loopholes" that exist for the Supreme Court. Otherwise, the Supreme Court will slowly but surely lose credibility with the nation that they are supposed to protect.”

“I think they should be required to disclose anything over $25,000 that comes from a "friend" or outside source. There's no reason a person would take a judge on a free lavish vacation if they weren't expecting something in return. It should all be on record so judges can be held accountable for these exchanges.”

  • “This seems to fall under the personal hospitality item, and Thomas’s opinions have always been straight-forward and consistent. There are few justices who I’ve ever read and thought were influenced, and he’s certainly not one of them.”

“I am not really sure. Heck, I'm not even sure if you could make a full case against Justice Thomas. All I know is when I'm doing taxes and make a slight mistake, the IRS would hound me; If a person in one of the most important jobs in the US can get away with stuff like that, that doesn't seem fair.”
