How do you feel about the Biden administration’s new immigration laws to replace Title 42?

👍 Strongly agree (19%) – "I think we need to slow down the migration into the US. Too many people are crossing the border illegally and taking advantage of taxpayer-funded welfare systems in the US."

📈 Agree/Somewhat agree (30%) – "It is only a starting point to logical and humane treatment of migrants. I've seen them cross through to Arizona. While a few of these individuals may create a safety/security threat with drugs, etc., most of their life stories are tragic. People are people and we all deserve adequate shelter, food, clothing, medical attention, job and respect as a human. Treating people like animals happens in places we do not want to be."

  • "The new regulations are a step in the right direction. While the U.S. is the safest and most accessible destination for those fleeing conflict in Central and South America, we cannot allow an unregulated, continuous flow of refugees to cross our borders illegally. Establishing processing centers in countries such as Mexico and requiring refugees to use them to be considered for asylum at least begins to head the problem off before it gets to our borders."

🤷 Neutral (12%) – "I have no real idea of how this could be beneficial for everyone. All I want is people that truly want to be here, to be here. But life isn't that easy."

📉 Disagree/Somewhat disagree (17%) – "While it’s better than title 42, this makes it more complicated and difficult for people to get through. I’ve heard stories about how the smartphone app doesn’t recognize people and how appointments get filled up not even 2 minutes after registration for them opens. Not to mentions people might not even have access to a smart phone in the first place! It just feels like Biden should be doing more and be prepared to address some of those inequalities."

👎 Strongly disagree (22%) – "It's just another band-aid. Congress needs to pass meaningful legislation that resolves the problem permanently."
