In general, do you agree with the Human Rights Campaign’s declaration that the recent spike in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation represents a state of emergency for all LGBTQ+ Americans?

👍 Yes (49%) – "The legislation that is being introduced and enacted is a clear attack on a specific minority population. LGBTQ+ people pose no direct threat to society, and the forced heteronormative agenda actually does more harm to communities than its claims to protect minors. It's a form of xenophobia that is born out of a lack of dialogue and lack self-education."

• If people would strive to learn about one another's differences, they would realize that trans people are just people being human. They work, have families, have loved ones. Same as cis-gendered people. We are all the same."
• "The alt right and social conservatives need to grow up and realize that people should be allowed to live their lives. Not every is going to 100% agree on anything so they need to stop trying to force everyone to conform to their ideals. There is arguably a far smaller - as in microscopic - number of individuals on the LGBTQ 'alphabet rainbow' who are grooming children or trying to get anyone to join their ranks than there are cis-het individuals who do so."

👎 No (42%) – "That's not a state of emergency. What it shows is that people are trying to take pause on a few things. Instead of letting just anything and everything fly, we need to take a minute; especially when a lot of these hot topic items revolve around small children. Their brains are not yet fully developed and they cannot make decisions for themselves. These are important things that need to be thought through and it seems as though we've suddenly gotten into this mentality of "anything goes.""

• "Kids are confused enough during puberty and laws allowing them to change their sex before they are an adult is absurd. Once they are an adult I'm all for them being in the body they feel they should be in but to alter a childs body and they grow up to feel they are actually the gender they were born as is horrible and they can't go back."
