In your opinion, will X succeed as an “everything app” in the US?

👍 Yes: (16%) – "I think it comes down to convenience. If Musk can execute the perfect everything app then I believe it can be very successful."

  • "People want easy, all in one solutions, and we don't have that right now. AND, Musk has the resources to put behind it to make his vision a reality."

👎 No (69%) – "I'm not voluntarily signing up to give a single company access to my whole life. I work hard to try and keep google and its ilk from knowing all that, and there's no way every else is going to sign up for a central one-stop shop either."

  • "For a lot of people, Musk represents corporate greed and arrogance. He’s too visible. Twitter’s X-potential service competitors may be just as greed motivated, but they’ll benefit from America’s ignorance of their inner workings."

"In my experience, people are fed up with Elon Musk and eager to see him fail. With Threads as a new competitor to X/Twitter, and so many well-established apps that already provide the services Musk wants X to include, I can’t imagine that a complete overhaul of Twitter will do anything other than alienate many of its less die-hard users."

  • "Don't get me wrong; an all-in-one app could be at least moderately popular with *some* users. But I'm feeling that in this cultural moment, even app adoption and loyalty is becoming segregated along political lines. And at this point, Elon has lost so much credibility and trust with the kind of people that he should have been catering to, that I don't think any of his social media efforts are ever going to gain the kind of support that he really needs to earn in order to make this idea work."
  • "Timing. You don't rebrand a product for something it might be. Build the new product then rebrand. I'm not going to suddenly go back to Twitter because its a different name. I might go back if they have something compelling to offer."

🤷 Unsure/other (15%) – "I could see it failing just because there are people who really hate Musk and everything he does. However, I know people who have having so many apps on their phone. If you told me that one app would cover the majority of my needs, I would probably go for it."

  • "I think it's smart for Musk to rebrand. He is an intelligent businessman and understands what the majority of consumers want. I just have no clue if this will be successful or not."
