If Taiwan is invaded by China, how do you think the US should react?

🪖 Deploy US troops to fight against China (19%) – "China is a growing world superpower. It has demonstrated that it will engage in cyber warfare with the US. Currently, China has an alliance with North Korea. If China is allowed to take control of Taiwan I think China will continue to take control of nations either militarily or economically until the only action left is for other developed nations to confront China militarily."

💰 Provide military/financial support, but don’t deploy troops (40%) – "USA doesn't want to get into a direct armed conflict with a super power, especially in a conflict that the USA is unlikely to win outright."

• "An all out war with China is a winless situation. Even if the US defeats China in battle, both economies would be so badly damaged that it would take decades to fully recover. The ignorance and arrogance of war to defend political ambitions has passed in this world. We can all believe in in what we want, peacefully and with prosperity."

✋ Stay out of the conflict entirely (24%) – "Vietnam, Afghanistan, Korea and Ukraine are just a few misadventures the U.S. has engaged in without making a constructive contribution. The U.S. needs to stop being the world's police."

• "The United States needs to stop. Perhaps, this obscene funding towards proxy wars could actually go towards supporting the people they claim to "fight for." The United States won't prioritize and pay for health care, but they'll subsidize violence overseas."

🤷 Unsure/other (17%) – "It would depend on specific circumstances for the reason for invasion, but I am not certain the US needs to be more worried about other countries over what is happening at home right now. I really think we need to start fixing some of our own problems with our extremely divided nation (which is going to get worse next year with the election) before we send our resources to other countries."
